The Princess's Trick part III

Timothy laughed. What a scaredy cat," he thought as he walked up to the door of the same house. He knocked on the door. "Trick or-what?"he said when the person opened the door. The person was dressed as a princess. O.K. that's not such a big deal. A lot of people dress up as princesses on Halloween. But this princess looked exactly like the one he had scared. In fact, it was the same one! "Trick or treat," she said sweetly, as she dropped a piece of candy in his bag. As he walked away he shook his head and laughed. He said, "I may have scared her, but she sure tricked me good!"

The Princess's Trick part II

The princess heard something rustle nearby. "What was that," she asked herself fearfully. Frightened, she kept walking, closer and closer to the door. As the dark clouds covered the moon overhead and a chilly wind passed over her, she shivered. She thought, "Maybe I don't like being alone after all. I have a bad feeling that something is about to happen and I won't like it." Suddenly the boy, Timothy, jumped out at her from behind the house. And what else would he be dressed as but a vampire of course! "Boo!" he yelled out. The princess screamed as she ran away. "Help!" Timothy laughed, "hahaha!" The princess yelled back at him, "I hate vampires. I hate, hate, hate, hate them!

The Princess's Trick part I

It was Halloween night.Everyone was outside trick or treating. A princess walked up to the next house on her street. "This is so much fun," she thought. "My parents finally let me go by myself this year, because I am ten years old now. This is my favorite time of year, besides Christmas and my birthday of course. It's sort of scary out here by myself, though. I hope there aren't any vampires out right now," she thought as she walked up the driveway. She couldn't see the boy, Timothy, on the side of the house, since it was so dark. But Timothy could see her. "Hehe, he said. "Someone to frighten." Quickly he hid.

The ungrateful crane

One day as a crane, standing by a pond, saw a wolf, who looked in pain. The wolf came up and asked him if he would pull a bone out of his mouth, because it had gotten stuck in his throat. The crane agreed once the wolf promised to pay him a large amount of money in return for doing the favor. As soon as the crane had finished this horrendous task he demandingly asked for his reward of money. The wolf haughtily laughed and said, “Don’t you have a reward big enough, for I have been kind enough to let you safely pull your big, empty head from the jaws of a wolf. Surely you are not ungrateful for that!”

the flea's question

One afternoon, while a flea as talking to an ox, working in the field, the flea curiously asked him, “Why is it, that while you are so big and strong, you serve men day after day, while I, because I am so small a creature, drink their blood and feed on their flesh?” The ox answered him, “I am well loved by strong, friendly men, who pat me on my head and shoulders all the time.” The flea unbelievingly then replied, “While you like this patting, whenever this same thing happens to me, it brings me great sorrow and destruction!”

Abraham

After a while, God decided to test Abraham. He called to him saying, “Go, sacrifice your son”. So Abraham, trusting in God, faithfully got up and got everything he needed. He took his son, Isaac, and left to the place God commanded. On the way up Isaac asked his old, loving father curiously, “We have everything we need to make the offering, but where is the bull?” Abraham answered his son, “God, who knows best, will provide everything we need.”

When they got to the place God had commanded Abraham bound his son to the alter. He took up his knife and mournfully raised it, ready to strike his son. Suddenly an angel stopped him urgently saying, “Stop! Because you have obeyed, do not kill your one and only son.” Then Abraham found a ram and sacrificed him in place of his young, terrified son, Isaac, saying, “The Lord has provided.” Then the angel called to him again and said, “You have obeyed the Lord. Go and God will bless you and your family.”

Noah's Ark

After the rain had started to cease, Noah decided to open the window of the ark. He sent out a raven to see how far the water had gone down. Next he sent out a dove. The dove, finding no place to set its foot, returned back to him so he sadly knew there was no place for the dove to land. Noah waited several days before sending the dove out again. This time the dove returned with a leaf in its mouth, so Noah knew that the water was going down. He waited then eagerly sent the dove a third time and, because the water had subsided from the earth, the dove did not return to him again.

Now Noah knew the ground had to be completely dry. God told Noah it was time to leave the ark. “Take all the animals with you,” He said. So Noah faithfully obeyed. He and his family, who had been in the ark for forty days straight, went out with the animals and finally stood on dry land!

A Lunch to Remember part III

From then on, until Chuck grew up he always waited in the barn, with his brothers and sisters, for his mom bring back some food for them to eat. When he finally told his mom about the big worm, she laughed. “You chicken! That’s the water hose! So you’re the one who made the big hole in that hose. Silly boy!” But Chuck was still too scared to go outside the barn by himself. But when Chuck did go out he carefully made sure not to go where the water hose was, because he would never forget that mean, scary worm.

A Lunch to Remember part II

Chuck, very hungry by this time, continued to peck at the worm. This worm was getting on his nerves. Chuck’s mouth was starting to hurt, because the worm’s skin was very hard. This worm was very stubborn. As Chuck continued to peck at it, the worm suddenly burst open and sprayed water everywhere! “Ahhh!” Chuck screamed. “Worms aren’t supposed to do that! I don’t like this mean worm.” Frightened, Chuck quickly ran away from the big, mean worm. He was still hungry but he didn’t care any more. He just wanted to get away from that worm!

A Lunch to Remember part I

Chuck the chick was hungry. It was past his lunchtime. It was the first time his mom had let him out of the nest to get food by himself. None of his brothers and sisters, who born at the same time as him, had been out alone yet. He was the first one. He was hungrily walking along, looking for something to eat, when he saw a huge, long worm. Perfect. “I’ve never seen a worm this big before! Do they really grow this big?” he asked himself. “Apparently so!” He started to peck at it. It didn’t move. What was wrong with it? Chuck wasn’t sure so he just kept pecking. It just laid there. “Something is weird about this worm,” he thought. “Very weird!”

uninvited

Has your friend ever thrown a party and not invited you? What would you do?

If my friend threw a party and didn't invite me I would get mad at some people but not care about some parties. If it was someone I had just met I would be okay with it. If it was someone I was okay friends with I would probably just not invite them to my party. If it was one of my good friends I would be pretty mad and I would sort of talk with them about it and if they were sorry I wouldn't be very mad but if they didn't care then I would be mad and wouldn't talk to them very much. If it was my best friend I would be really mad and not invite them over for a while and probably talk to them about it.

My dog

My dog Sheba is a half lab, half chow. She is all black with a black and pink tongue. She is seven and will turn eight on her birthday, August seventh. She is learning some human language right now. She has learned “let’s go for a walk”, “time to eat”, and “you want a treat?” She jumps up and down every time she hears those words!
She used to not like any toys at all and never played with them until one day we discovered she liked toys that squeak! We found this out when our neighbor, who also has a dog, accidentally threw a squeaky toy over the fence. Sheba loved it! So we went to the store and bought her a toy that squeaked and set it out in the yard. At first she wasn’t sure it was for her. But after awhile, when she had bitten it and we didn’t get onto her for it she thought maybe, just maybe she would be able to take it. And sure enough, the next time we looked out the window, it was gone! When I went outside to see where she was I found her by the side of the house squeaking her toy and loving it so much! She looked so cute when she would lie on her back with her toy in her mouth and try and grab it with her paws. She has torn that one up by now and has a brand new one which has four places to squeak it! The squeakier the better in her mind!

strict teacher vs. relaxed teacher

Here is a question and my opinion of the answer.

Q: Would you rather have a strict teacher who's fair and taught well or a teacher who was relaxed and fun but didn't teach very well?

A: I would rather have a strict teacher, because in my class at church my teacher never
disciplines the kids. The boys in my class are really wild and one of the girls always asks for snacks. We're way too big for that! It's really annoying. So, I really want a strict teacher!

Bio. vs. Biog.

Did you know that the abbreviation for biography is biog.?

Most people think that the abbreviation for biography is bio., but that's not true!! I just learned in spelling that the correct abbreviation for biography is actually biog., not bio.! Weird, huh? It seems really interesting to me, because I always hear people say stuff about bio's not biog's.

Abbreviations

Abbreviations are very useful. They take up a lot less time than writing a full word. Of course, it’s useful for other things to. Like if you don’t know how to spell a word, just use an abbreviation, such as mdse. for merchandise or inc. for incorporated.

Sometimes, though, abbreviations can be hard. Like oz., in ounces, is weird because there is no ‘z’ in ounces. Another example would be in lb. for pound. In that abbreviation ‘l’ and ‘b’ are both not in pound, yet we will usually write it that way. So you see, abbreviations can be very useful, but very confusing.

A River Memory

This is one of my memories of a river.

One day , I don't know where we were, my family, grandmom, and I were swimming in a river, when suddenly something slithered around our feet. At first we didn't know what it was. Then my brother, three years older than me, screamed. I saw the thing again. It
was brown with a wierd design on it's back, and had a serpentine movement. That meant one thing. SNAKE!! Tame snakes don't bother me, but wild ones freak me out! We all quickly got out of the water and never swam in that river again!

If I was Sir Peter Fenris-bane . . . (Formerly Peter Pevensie)

I would be very happy, but sort of nervous that Aslan trusted me so much to give me a “new” name!! I would feel 10 times braver because He had made a sort of knight type of thing! It would also be scary to have so much responsibility all of the sudden. But He would have made me calm down by a little tip, “and whatever you do, don’t forget to clean your sword!!”

August 7, 1945

Dear Diary,

I just heard that a bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. What if a bomb drops on me next?? I am VERY scared. I don't get why people are dropping bombs! It's sooo scary. I can't sleep at night. I'm so scared. Just imagine how THEY must have felt. Freaky! I'm just very glad I wasn't there when it happened! I feel very sorry for those people. Imagine what it must have been like. So many people were killed. I get scared every time I think of airplanes. War, war, war. Will it ever stop? I hope so. I hope it will stop very soon. It's too scary living in war time! Why do we even have to fight and have war so much? It's so sad to hear that so many people are dying. And it's scary too. Because you never know where the next bomb is going to land.

DEATH acrostic

Death meant mourning,
Even in the old days,
Always sadness
Throughout that phase
Happening to a KING was horrible, not knowing He would raise!!

I'M SORRY

I’m sorry I ate
Your chocolate chip cookies,
I know they’re your favorite kind,
And that you were saving them for your own dessert.
Please forgive me,
I’m very, very sorry.
Your cookies are so good, especially when they’re warm,
And besides you get them every other week,
Plus, they’re my favorite kind of cookies, too.
